Is the master cleanse really good for you?

i am on day 3 of the master cleanse or the lemonade diet and feeling sluggish and not so good. I am craving food all the time, more than I did before. I lost 4 pounds already but know that's just water. So I'm wondering if it was good for me like said since I am not getting my nutrition and will I gain weight back if I go back to eating healthy.

I would skip this "cleanse" completely. It's unneeded and potentially dangerous. Your liver and kidneys work as the filtration system for your body.
If you are looking to lose weight I suggest the following:
Enter your stats into MFP
Select the rate you want to lose weight
Eat notoriously dense foods to help you reach your calorie goals and macro goals
Use a food scale to ensure you are eating the correct portion

No! No, no, no! Regardless of what your goal is, regardless of what you've read or been told, cleanses, detoxes, and fasts like this are disordered and unhealthy. You feel sick because that is a normal physical response to not eating. You will binge (eventually) when you come off it, because that is a normal physiological response after a period of starvation.
I hope you will consider pursuing your goals- whatever they may be- in a more balanced, sensible, and sustainable way.

How could it be good for you? I consider a balanced diet with lots of nutrients to be "good for you" and the master cleanse is neither balanced nor does it have many nutrients. Plus, isn't it pretty gross?0

Just drink mineral oil at bedtime every few months. Diet and exercise is key.0

I don't know what it is, but from what you've said, No, it doesn't sound good for you.
A diet with a wide variety of fruits and veggies, low or no-fat dairy, whole grains and lean, white meats is good for you.
You shouldn't exclude vitamins and minerals if you want to be healthy!!0 -

As a note, don't do ANY detoxes. Jesus, it even tells you to take laxatives before bed... x-x Omg.

Stop this detox asap.
All detoxes and cleanses are just ridiculous. Your body detoxes itself . you don't need to go to extremes like this. Of coarse you feel bad , because this was a very bad choice.
If you want to lose weight , eat at a deficit. You can enjoy all the foods you love, but use portion control and moderation.
I lost all my weight while having cake every night , I didn't give up anything except the large portion sizes.
Use a food scale to properly weigh your portions out to be sure your actually eating at a deficit.
Don't listen to the people who claim you need to give up certain foods ( unless you have a medical reason ) full fat milk won't kill you , these people just like to spread misinformation . eat what you like , but in proper portions and you'll be fine ! No need for cleanses or detoxes, no need to give anything up.0 -
