Hi, my name is Sheridan. I'm slightly overweight for my height and I'd like to lose 20 pounds. I'm doing a ketogenic diet to reach my goal faster, though so far its somewhat difficult. Wouldn't mind having someone to talk to who is also doing keto :)

Why would you choose a way of eating that you are only willing to stick to for 2 months.? Do you have a medical condition ?
I have nothing against a keto diet , just asking why you picked this path.
What are your plans for maintenance once you reach your goal ? Since you stated your only doing keto for 2 months ?

I'm trying to lose a set amount of weight for the next few weeks to get back into a healthy weight range. Once I get off of keto I'm still going to avoid processed carbohydrates to prevent insulin spikes, but I wont restrict my carb intake so heavily, somewhere near 40-50 grams, not <25g a day. This is simply because I can't see myself living a happy lifestyle on this diet beyond 8 weeks or so. I love to cook and try different foods, but keto doesn't allow much of this. The only reason I'd stay on is if I no longer have any urge to eat carbs, which I understand could happen due to metabolic changes. Also, for maintenance I'll keep exercising 4-5 times a week (I already am) and I'd continue to eat little to no processed foods.

Regardless of WHAT you eat, if you don't measure it out you will gain the weight back. Weight loss isn't and never will be a one time deal. It is a complete lifestyle change. Sure you can try some gimmicky diet and keto seems to be one of the better ones, but you still have to count calories when you hit your goal. You could avoid eating that 600 calorie pasta and in turn eat 1000 calories of something else.

    Exactly

People come on here and think they'll go low carb for a little while and then be done. It doesn't work like that .

I've watched a few seminars on weight loss and it does seem like cutting out most or all carbs can be a healthier lifestyle, but they also say to eat at least 13-15 4 oz servings of veggies a day. x.x

Eating like that just isn't realistic for most people in the long term.
