I am 53 years old and need to lose at least 30 pounds. Currently working with a trainer (fitness assessment last week; first session 8/18/15) - very nervous - recovering from tendon surgery on right foot - still wheeling around on the knee scooter, so exercise is challenging. My greatest fear? Not being honest on the food diary.

So why wouldn't you be honest on the diary? The only person you'd really be lying to is yourself. If you have a bad day, log it! That embarrassed feeling you get will remind you the next day to try harder. This journey is not about being perfect, it's all about making progress. You can do this, just be honest with yourself and accept the good and the bad. Keep trying.0

Being truthful is liberating. Log bad days or good days just do it everyday. And welcome to MFP!!0

When I first started logging my food. I realized I wasn't getting the nutrients I needed daily. In my experience logging everything has taught me to eat healthier. Good or bad log it.0

Hi! I'll be turning 53 this week and I also had the pleasure of wheeling around on the knee scooter because of a right tendon surgery! The good news is that I have made a good recovery and am now walking without pain or a limp! It takes a while, so be patient and don't try to do too much too soon. Best of luck to you. I also have an extra 30 pounds I would like to lose and I just started today.0
