Anyone ever read The Sonoma Diet? This is pretty much what they used.

I don't get why they tell me I need to eat 2400 calories a day. That seems like a lot. Plus there is not a way to get a number appropriate for weight loss. I never found mypyramid to be very helpful, not sure if myplate is very different.

I was pretty disappointed. I don't see how it is any improvement over the pyramid. It still doesn't clearly show that the grains should be whole grains, and there is no mention of fat.

Maintenance calories - TDEE - no deficits built in for weight loss.
