Hi I'm Matt. I am a pretty active person - I swim, bike, hike, chop wood, scuba dive - but by today's standards I should, and I want to, get rid of a bunch of pounds. I would like to try running but my leg won't let me so cycling is my cure. I usually do 12 - 16 miles five to six times a week and I love it. I am also trying to stay under 1600 calories a day. If anyone in CT is interested in a bike ride, let me know.

Matt

Man, I love cycling. Are you aware of warmshowers.org ? Your calorie goal is kinda low for a guy. I made that mistake early on. Add me if you need a friend.

I just got my bike on fathers day. I forgot how much fun riding can be. I run weekdays due to it being dark on the roads at 5 AM but ride on the weekends after daybreak because it gets to hot to run. I also got a 64 oz. stainless beer growler with bike mount for my rides to the taprooms and brewery.

I love riding now that I have stopped "talking" about it and started to "just do it". I cycle to and from work and then on the weekends for leisure. I use MapMyRide to keep track of mileage.

Yeah. The calorie goal is kind of low but I mostly use the app to see what's high in calories. Apparently rice is not that bad and I like rice. Apparently pasta is so so and I like pasta. I love potatoes. I'm cutting out booze, breads, cold cuts, sausages, red meats. At least for a while. Speaking of breweries, there is one on mile six of my trail :)
