What can we control? What can we influence?

We can't change or control the past. We can't predict or control the future. But we can influence the future by our actions in the present. Whatever your goals are, whether they are to lose fat, build muscle, or some combination of both, you will get there as long as you do the right thing *most* of the time. There's no time like the present to do the right thing. We're all human and we're all liable to make mistakes or slip up once in a while. Acknowledge any mistakes and move on. Don't try to compensate for them by doing something extreme; this will only lead to a cycle of going back and forth between extremes. Keep a steady pace and keep your eye on the future goal.
We can influence what happens in the the long term and medium term this way. We can't necessarily make a noticeable impact on tomorrow. You might step on that scale tomorrow and see that it went up when you wanted it to go down. That's because fluctuations happen daily. This is a normal fact of life. But did you do all the right things yesterday? Will you do all the right things today? If so, then over time, that scale will move in the right direction.
Keep your eyes on the future goal, and be mindful of what you do in the present. It gets easier every day, to become the ultimate you.

Very well said, thank you for posting this. It really goes with my mind set today, since I had such a bad day yesterday. My gut reaction was to compensate by eating extremely light today, but I relize it's better to just eat healthy and let it sort itself out.0

Thanks for the encouraging reminder, Taso.
As a chronic procrastinator, it's easy to get stuck in the trap of, 'Back on the wagon...TOMORROW'!!!
Regarding the 'ultimate' me - I would settle for an even 'just less flabbeh' me!!! :laugh:0
