Weight loss too rapid

Hello, I have been coubting calories for 40 days. When i began i weighted 252.9 and I just weighted myself and was 230. I usually lose about four pounds a week because I go to the gym four days a week, play bball on saturdays and walk about 7 miles a day. My calorie in take is about 1600 and two cheat days where it goes to about 2100.(i started with one, but have increased to two because I felt i had exceded expectations) should i be concerned about too much weight loss, too soon?

I wouldn't expect the weight to keep coming off that quickly, but it would give me motivation to see such progress.

I wouldn't worry right now. 1-2 pounds per week is often quoted but I've also seen 1-2% of bodyweight mentioned.

I am motivated, I just wasn't sure if this was the norm. My initial goal was 225 by October, but ive now decided to go to 215. Thanks for the comments. Also, best of luck to all on your journey

Should be fine. It'll slow down the lower you get.
I lost my first 18 pounds in 33 days and my starting point was 199 pounds, a good 50 pounds lower than yours.

I only had 20 or so pounds to lose and lost 10 lbs in one month. The last 2 pounds came off over the last 6 months. The sudden drop at first is great and motivating. Just know that this pace will level off to the 1-2 lbs./week eventually. Enjoy the big weight drops!

I have read about the weight loss becoming stagnant which is why I began walking 5.5 miles daily to the gym after work. I wanted to take it up a notch. I am 15 pounds away from my amended goal and want to reach 215 by mid october.

That's about where I started. Sounds like you're doing well, just keep a look out for signs of malnutrition (lots of hair loss, mainly) and keep trucking!

I wouldn't worry. Don't worry when it slows down, either. You won't lose four pounds a week forever, so enjoy it now, but don't get discouraged when it's 3, 2, 1 or none coming off every week.

It flies off pretty quickly at first. My ere will come a week when you do nothing wrong and you don't lose a pound.

Take the good with the bad. Stick with it.

    Congrats on your loss! :)
