No, I tried eating less food and logging more accurately as detoxes are unnecessary.

If you're forever stalled, it's either your body has adapted to your current physical activity, or you're eating more than you think. There are some other variables with stress and lack of sleep, but start with the first two.

Lots of people do "detoxes" and fast for a day. Few have come back to say that it did them any good.

    When I plateaued, I took a break.

Get accurate with your food logging( Use a food scale,) so many people without realizing it are eating more than they think.

Nope, because they are not needed.

Might I suggest that you take a good hard look at your statement I put in bold. It seems to me that you could be sabotaging your progress with this mindset.

The only thing required to lose weight is a calorie deficit. If you are not losing weight you are eating too much. You need to find a way to eat less, which for me is using a food scale and logging all food and exercise.

I'm just a few years younger than you and lost 44 pounds while in menopause (confirmed after blood tests), and I have been maintaining for over a year and a half. Don't let anything stop you from reaching your goals. Besides, if your ticker is correct, you only have 30 pounds to lose. That's not much.

    You can do this!

    ^^^^ joking

But seriously I have never seen a detox that had anything good said about it other than by the person selling it.

All sounds like magic and wishes.

    No detox please.
Take a couple of days, or even a week to refocus.
    Then start logging again, tighter.
With 30 lb to lose, you have to really pay attention to your intake as miss logging 100 cals here and 50 cals there can really affect your loss.
Use a food scale, weigh and measure every thing, and when eating out best guess on the high side.

I lost my 30 lb during menopause, about 7 years ago, and have maintained ever since.

If you are not exercising, try to fit something you like into your day. I would recommend some kind of resistance training, as it helps both bone and muscle retention.

    Cheers, h.

I agree with the other posters but if your issues are hormonal, perhaps you need to visit a doctor to get something to stabilize your mood, even as short term measure? Hormones and stress - not a good combo and hard on your health.

Don't put yourself under more stress by doing some weird fad - treat yourself kinder than that.

Are you getting enough sleep? Exercise helps with stress.

I did the food diary detox. It was super easy to do and it didn't cost me a dime.

All I had to do was read this:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1234699/logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide/p1

This helped me flush out all of the inaccurate food entries that I was using. When I combined this with a food scale to weigh all of my solids the scale started moving again.

I think this needs to be double-bolded. I will probably steal this for many of the "jump-start" threads (applying credit).

Only time you're going to need a detox is if you're a heavy narcotics user... and I doubt that's very fun.
