Celebrity diets

"One of the reasons you hear so many crazy things from celebrities and celebrity culture is they’re desperate, too. They’re looking for solutions. They need to look good on the red carpet in two weeks. They are under tremendous pressure to look young, be fit, be slim, and never age."

Has anyone read this guy's book?

No, but the guy sounds like he has his head on straight. I'm still reeling from Gwyn's advice on what ladies should be doing to their lady parts :o

    LOL

"JB: So is Gwyneth actually wrong about everything?

TC: It’s incredible how much she is wrong about. Even when she is right about stuff — like telling people to eat more fruits and vegetables — there is always a bit of a tinge of wrongness."

No, I haven't read this but that makes me want to at least flip through it next time I'm at a bookstore.

I'm all for Gwyneth's healthy advice but she also suffers from early onset osteoporosis due to severe dieting :s according to an old article from the Daily Mail. Seriously Google it :/

It will be a cold day in hell before I turn to fitness gurus before I listen to a doctor and/or dietitian.

Gwyneth Paltrow has no business advising anyone on their diet or health.

I've heard steamed clams are tasty, but I can't say from experience. Perhaps we need more anecdotal evidence.

Interesting article. There are certainly examples where celebrity endorsement of specific practices can be very harmful at an individual and some cases a population level. Jenny McCarthy and the MMR-autism discussions comes to mind.

The best diet is to eliminate all exposure to Gwyneth Paltrow.

I just read about them steaming. She has to be promoting that sap and saying something controversial to draw attention to it.

    Nobody can be THAT stupid.
