A serving is a 1/2 cup or 130g and the can says it serves about 3 1/2 servings, but if I drain and then measure 130g I only come out with about 2 1/2 servings so are the calories still 110 calories for the 130g or is it more calories

Does the packaging specify drained or undrained? For 130g it should be 110, you will quite often find that you don't get as much as it says on the package

I assume it's the weight with the liquid.

I have noticed that canned beans often do not match what the labels list as the contents.

Just weigh them and move on.

I use the generic USDA-based entries for beans (e.g., beans- black beans, cooked, boiled, drained, with {or without} salt) rather than the nutrition label from the cans. The only real difference should be the amount of sodium, and since I rinse and drain canned beans, the sodium on the label isn't accurate for me anyway.

the calories on a can include the liquid.

if you drain, you might be able to find the drained version on here, or you can use the usda version if you don't need to track the sodium. that's what i do. or i use the drained weight of the canned beans without finding the drained entry, so i still have the sodium but the correct weight...if that made sense.

I weigh it with the juice included, then drain.

Unless the label specifies drained and undrained, it is counting everything in the can in the calories.

How many servings they say you get will generally be less than how many you actually get.

I weigh just the beans and then find the nutrients online, match it to an entry in the archives.
