Fat content question

If I am over on my fat content by like -6 and I have 700 calories left for the day, does this mean I will not lose weight?? I am trying to balance out everything but don't want to ignore that and focus strictly on calories.

No. Consuming fat doesn't equal body fat. There are both good fats (e.g. unsaturated) and bad fats (e.g. saturated and trans fats).

You have to make better choices during the day so this doesn't happen. Choose lower fat foods and you will have enough to fulfill your calorie requirement for the day. Its about healthy choices.
You may not lose if you are not getting enough calories.

This. However, we also need some saturated fats. Trans fats are icky.

No, calories are what really matter. Energy is energy, though it is a little more complicated. Fat is actually harder to break down than carbs so it's better to go over on fat than carbs (in my unprofessional opinion). Eat some protein and veggies to fill those 700 calories and you will be fine! plus 6 over really isn't a big deal ;)

Interestingly, the human body can make saturated fat (from unsaturated fats) but it can't make unsaturated fats (well, it can make them from other unsaturated fats, but you need some to make some haha) so you really don't need the saturated fat. It's more of a limit than a recommended intake :)

Thanks everyone. I am not going to freak out then. LOL. I know it is good fats we are talking about cause I used oilve and coconut oil for some of the things I consumed. Yay for good fats!

No going over a tiny bit won't kill you, especially if it's a one off. I do worry about going over my numbers and try not to even if they are "good" fats, sugars, etc.... The thing is a few points won't kill you. Just review your diet and see what adjustments you could make in the future to prevent that from happening.
