So here's my problem..
I want to lose weight and be healthy, but I also want to enjoy this summer so I've put down that I want to lose 2lbs/week, I also put that i have a sedentary lifestyle as I'm home with my son during the days and other than walking my daughter to school and working out, I don't get much activity in. The trouble is that my calories are at 1200/day on days i don't exercise which I find almost impossible to stick with. I can get through the day if I exercise because I add those calories and eat them back. but if i don't exercise I feel like I'm starving! I run for exercise 5k or more/day but sometimes my hips hurt, or I get a cold and I like to take a break for a day but I feel like I can't or I'll starve! I tried changing the settings to lightly active and losing 1lb/week but i feel like I'm actually overeating that way. I guess I need help determining my lifestyle??? It seems to really change the calories allotted/day.
I walk my daughter to school (7 min walk, we walk slow)
I run 5k (12 min mile)
That's basically it, I wouldn't log walking to the park or anything like that...I don't want to go into starvation mode, but I also don't want to over eat! aaaahhhhh!!!

interesting question... i'm in the same boat0

Change your goals to 1.5 or 1lb a week. This will give you more calories to work with and you will still lose weight0

I'm not sure how this site calculates it...on this site it only lets me eat 1400 cals, but on another it said 1900. I've been doing this just over one week and lost 3 lbs. Regardless of what goal I want, I just put that I wanted to "maintain my weight" and it said to eat 1947 cals.
I'm just doing trial and error until I know how much I should be eating. But this week at 1947 cals allowed I still lost 3 lbs without exercising. So, I'm sticking with 1947 until I lose about 15 lbs, then I'll prob drop it 100 cals or so.
Maybe you'll have to do the same until you get the results you want. Ideally, for 2 lbs a week you'd have to eat about 7000 cals less per week then you need. So you would just need to figure out how many calories you NEED.
Hope this helps...Good luck with the weight loss!0 -
if you find it hard lower your goal to 1 lb a week. Slow and steady.0

Thanks everyone, maybe 1lb a week is more realistic...0

I would also definitely say that 1lb/week is a nice goal for you. Slow and steady wins the race! If you feel like you can manage the 1lb/week calories better than the 2lb/week, then definitely switch to that. Good luck!0
