Holy crap, that's absolutely awesome!!! Bloody well done, you!

    You look amazing.

I'm a huge fan of walking, and you've given me even more inspiration. I'm averaging over 10k steps for a few months. I am just desperate to keep going!

    Thank you.

I scoff at people who state that walking isn't enough to help people burn off enough calories and that many need more higher impact exercise to achieve it.

Congrats my man. I currently walk at least 3 miles a day intentionally. It's my main form of cardio.

^This. I've significantly raised my TDEE through briskly walking 20K steps daily, and greatly lowered my pain levels from psoriatic arthritis. It's medicine for me and and a fantastic metabolic boost.

I started out just over a year ago walking to the end of the block with a cane. Walking rocks.

Congratulations! You are an inspiration, sir! <3

Another walker, here. Due to some physical limitations, walking and water jogging are my only safe sources of cardio. And I love my Fitbit as well as the fun and informative step badges it gives you along the way.

Very motivating!! I had to start walking this summer. I used to run, but I messed up my knee and really cannot run anymore due to the risk of further injury. I was sure that walking would not cut it, but I have lost 12 pounds so far with walking....I hope it continues to work for me too!!
  • This is amazing - to think some of you averaged more than 10k steps a day!!
I am currently walking 6 days a week on a treadmill and averaging about 3500 steps per session. I am really struggling to get to over 6k steps a day.
Did you follow a program to build up to 10k steps?
Do you walk daily or do you plan rest days?
I use a pedometer app on my cell to count daily steps. I 'm not sure how accurate it is because its quite different from what is stated on the treadmill. Is it best to get a Garmin, fitbit, Polar to count steps?
Do you eat your calories back that you gain from walking?

I'm so inspired by all of you!

This was me, six months ago, too.

I still take my cane on really long walks in case my leg starts to hurt and I'm far from home, but I now walk 25,000 + steps per day. That's over 11 miles. Every single day.

    Walking does rock! :)

You convinced me. It's time to replace the dead battery in my Fitbit One and get out the door.

You started with Fitbit on Jan 14, 2013, which makes it 948 days to achieve this. That means you have averaged 10,549 steps everyday during that period. 2 years, 7 months, and 6 days.

Thank you sir, you are an amazing source of inspiration and perseverance.

Awesome transformational life style change. You look great. We are probably similar in age. Didn't have as much to lose but life style changes to diet, exercise, and a whole bunch of walking I've dropped 60 since last Sept. We could be twins! Isn't the new body packaging just great? ! !
