Good for you! I didn't start back at the gym until my youngest was 3 1/2. I never intended to take 4 years off, but it happened and I don't regret giving my kiddos all my time when they were young. But at some point you have to get back to taking care of YOU too. Best wishes!!0

OK, so I realized that I posted this from my iPhone & it cut out most of what I typed! Technology!! So, long story short, and also since I can't remember all I wrote earlier today... I kept active my entire pregnancy, including some light kickboxing & yoga the morning before I was admitted to the hospital, the only issue is that I stopped weight lifting during preg due to being high risk (age & family med history) and now I want what I had back. Funny thing is, it turns out I never would have had an issue as I was fit enough & healthy enough, but I'm just happy my Son is healthy & strong just the same. I'm still strong & fit, I don't play games when I workout & I have no issue working out. If anything, I MAKE excuses TO workout. But I've also noticed that I'm 15 lbs from where I was a bit over 2 years ago & while I'm not overly concerned about the weight itself, I'm concerned about my physique. I'm 40 now & I refuse to be one of those older Mum's that can't keep up with their child. I want to practice his sports with him & I want him to be proud that I'm his Mum (plus, Hubz is younger than me so I've got to keep his eyes on me, too - lol!).
So, I'm looking for outside motivation, maybe a few people who will help keep me in check. I've been lax on logging foods & I need to buckle down & increase my protein intake if I'm going to get my muscle back. I follow a whole-foods-plant-based diet (mostly due to allergies to gluten, soy & dairy and issues digesting animal proteins as well) & I stopped taking my protein powder due to worries about the calories I was consuming. Well, from when I was building before, I didn't worry about calories; I drank my protein twice a day (some days more) and logged all my food/drinks & worked out heavy 3 days a week & the other 2 were high-rep/lower-weight. If I got a bonus workout on the weekend that was great.
So, if you're willing to help remind me when I don't log, reprimand me for not logging & keep me in check to get my muscle definition back, FR me. And if you find you don't like me, no hard feelings if you un-FR me. I'm here to get the muscle definition back and ensure my fitness for life.0
