Operation Cosplay

I know we all have many different motivations, be it health, for a loved one, too look good, too feel younger, and less tired.
But what about all those anime, video game, and movie die hard fans who want to lose weight for another reason... COSPLAY. Cosplay is a fun, and unique outlet for showing your love for your favorite characters, and actively participating in cons. It feels good to walk through a con dressed up as a character you adore, and getting all that positive feedback and attention.
As you know most anime characters, superheroes, and game characters are fit, and healthy. You may not feel like wearing their revealing or body forming outfits if your body doesn't fit the part.
In this discussion feel free to explain your cosplay motivation.
Who do you want to cosplay as? What are your goals? Why is cosplay important to you?

This'll be a good thread to follow if the discussion takes off. I'm not a cosplayer (probably because I never met anyone to suck me into the lifestyle) but I enjoyed putting in time in other dress-up worlds as a renfaire reenactor and a traditional bellydancer. Wanting to be lean and fit to look more convincing for the roles one portrays is an excellent reason to improve one's overall health and fitness. It's also part of why I'm putting time in on MFP. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of responses come in from your targeted audience.0

I think it's a great motivation! It is good to have a goal and set a target for yourself. Then you know you have something to work for. Please keep us updated on your progress. PS. If the oppertunity arises, my cosplay prefrence would be Liara-Mass effect.0

Cosplay
It is a huge motivator for me too! Less fabric would be amazing lol.0 -
Oh I have never done cosplay but would love to. I dressed up as Lara Croft for Halloween once when I was slimmer. I would like to do that again with less fat and more muscle in my thighs.0

Cosplay is a motivator for me as well! Last year one of my motivations to lose weight/stay in shape was that I was cosplaying Midna from LoZ:TP at New York Comic Con. This year I am going as a few things, but one of them is Princess Jasmine so I still have to keep my stomach looking good lol. It's great motivation!
There is actually a cosplay group here on MFP if any cosplayers want to join! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/22559-cosplayers-unite0
