I don't want to come across as thick but I am not sure about following my macros

    These are the two numbers you need to pay attention to:
    1 Total calories for the day. This number is important.
    2 Eat enough protein.

    Forget about the rest unless you have special goals or diet plan.

    If you're new to calorie counting just focus on hitting your calorie goal first.

    Once you've got used to that, then keep an eye on your protein, fat and carbohydrate intake. Look to see how close you are getting to the MFP targets. Many people find they fall short on protein. Try and hit this one as closely as possible and the others usually fall into place without too much effort.

    When losing weight, adequate protein intake (along with resistance exercise) will help retain muscle mass and help ensure that most of the weight loss comes from fat.
