I'm new to MyFitnessPal and wondered how you people add hot drinks to your food diary? I only really drink tea besides water and it's coming up as 50 calories? Is this correct - how do others calculate hot drinks pls?

I think black tea is generally considered to be 0 calories (or as close to 0 as makes no difference), so I'd weigh any milk and sugar I put in and just log those ingredients separately.

Plain unsweetened tea can't be 50 calories, that must be an incorrect entry. Or maybe it's someone's entry who had put sugar in their tea...? -- Anyway, for me, when I drink hot tea the tea comes up as 2 calories (lol) and I measure out a teaspoon of sugar. Same with my coffee, I measure 1.5 T of my favorite sweetened creamer. Although unsweetened black coffee does seem to have calories. Not many and I'm not worrying about that (it's like 7 or something), although I do track just so anyone looking at my diary knows what the creamer goes with. lol

Leaf tea will only have a couple of calories and I don't bother logging it. It's the milk / sugar / creamer that add calories so they get measured and logged.

I drink a lot of tea! Since it's 0 calories for black tea, I don't log it (personal preference). I don't take sugar in my tea, but I do take milk. For me, it's easier logging my tea milk all together under snacks. For example, I may put a half cup of milk in the fridge and use it in my tea throughout the day, so I will then add .5 cup of milk in snacks. It's easier than measuring it out each time, and keeps my calories more accurate throughout the day.

THanks everyone - I think I will do the same as LovingLife_Erin and set aside my tea milk and count it that way!
