NSV: Unrecognized

So it was my sister in laws birthday at the weekend.

She is married to my brother, and the last time I saw her brother was at their wedding in 06.

He went up to her and asked her if me and my wife had split up as he thought she had gone to the party with a new fella. Didn't recognize me, I wondered why he didn't say hello back when he walked in.

I dug out a picture from the wedding, and one from the weekend. I guess my hair has thinned a bit as well as my waist line.

It's pretty awesome to be told I look slimmer, totally amazing to not be recognized at all.

    Awesome job! That's such a huge achievement! No wonder he thought your wife had left you for a thinner more attractive bloke haha, you look so different!

    That is awesome and sounds funny the way you wrote it. Looks like you are maintaining well which is a concern I have based on my past regain history.

    That is so cool!

    I've had old friends walk right past me. At first I thought they were standoffish but some of them didn't recognize me until I started talking.

    I've lost 73lbs since January and last week I was at a play date with my kids and some moms I haven't seen since before the new year were there and said they didn't recognize me until they saw my kids with me :)

    Thanks, yes it was pretty cool, as quite often I look in the mirror and don't really notice the changes but I guess I see me everyday.

    Sadly not maintaining yet, haven't reached my goal weight, its taken 2.5 years to lose 100lbs, trying to get rid of another 20 or so. Though I've been at it so long it feels like I'm in maintenance :blush:
