After a month of maintaining, I decided to increase my calories from around 12-1400 to 15-1800 and it is paying off! Just excited to see that I can control this whole plateau thing!!

Also I am less than 1/4 lb from being under 190, which I haven't seen since I was 12!!! Besides that I am a much stronger and leaner 190 then I was back then!

I can tell you having dieted many many times over the years that your body will settle into whatever routine you are consistently doing and tend to counteract weight loss. What has worked for me has been the occasional "blow-out" big indulgent meal. Plus it is a lot of fun to occasionally just let it all go and treat yourself.

Congrats!! Way to go and keep up the great work. It is inspiring, I also just increased my calories and I am zig zagging them. Hopefully, I will see results soon.

I just upped my calories this morning. I've been pretty steady the last couple of weeks, but have been absolutely STARVING. I eat and am almost immdiately hungry again. Talked to my trainer, and we agreed that since I'm more fit and working harder to burn my calories, i may need more fuel. I'm also only 9 pounds from my goal, so that could be part of it too. We'll see what happens.

I have to do that too. When you hit the plateau again just decrease your calories. Great job on how far you have come!!!

Congrats to you finding what works with you. I try to tell people constantly that there is no real rule of thumb when it comes to weight loss. Its all trial and error. Gaining knowledge from mistakes and making the changes required for success.

So true! And it feels sooo good to know I can control myself and get back to my normal eating habits the next day!

I totally agree. My trainer has been yelling at me for months to eat more, but I was so scared. I have hit plateaus before but I guess the closer I get to my goal, the more nervous I get that I won't lose any more weight. I have been losing for 3 years and it can be so discouraging to see the plateaus. But, I try to remind myself that I have been there before many times and it will start up again.

And congrats on being so close to your goal!!

Congrats! I'm still waiting to see the pay off of increasing my caloric intake to get off this darn plateau.
