im sick of being overweight. I dropped 27lbs a year and a half ago and put 18 of it back on. That's too much. Simply put Goal... Drop 40 over the year. I start next Monday... 6 days on, one day off. Calorie counting all the way. This is going to be tough, but the alternative is much worse. Everything gets posted here.

Be careful with your one day off. Depending on what your calorie deficit is, you could erase it in one day. I know I could! And have...

I'm not even sure what one day "off" means, in this context…? Does that mean "off the diet"?

In bodybuilding a day off is equal to a cheat day. So, on that cheat day you can eat what you like. It's a reward for the hard work you put in during the week.

I like the idea of rewarding yourself. Like others have stated you just need to be careful with the amount of food you might consume. Good luck!

It can be tough and hellish if you choose to do it that way. Me, i can only be successful if i enjoy it and keep myself happy. Honestly you don't need to go hungry to lose weight. And you don't need to kill yourself in the gym either. Seriously! i've lost the weight i need to lose and did it without all the pain and angst that so many others seem to prefer.

Yes i was focused, yes i worked at it. I sweated but mainly in the kitchen and by diarising and (i only counted calories a short period).

I also have been through some ups and downs in other parts of my life and coped by finding appropriate help with that becuase they will ruin the whole project if left unmanaged. I eat enough, i try to enjoy my food, i stay away from temptation. I avoid hunger. This is how i make it enjoyable.
