I'm thinking of trying to add in 3-5 cups of green tea into my diet a day. Did anyone actually find that it helps to promote weightloss?

My friend swears by it. Apparently it boosts metabolism :)

There are some studies that suggest that the caffeine boosts metabolisms, but the difference is minuscule. It really makes no difference to weight loss directly, and that's coming from someone who drinks it daily. As oC says, hot drinks can fill the belly, and make you snack less. However, if you aren't drinking 3-5 cups of tea a day already, bear in mind that it does contain caffeine and can make you jittery, nauseous, and sleepless. I find green tea makes me queasy more than any other tea, and I am told that this is common.

Nothing "promotes" weightloss except a calorie deficit. Green tea has a bit of caffeine which will give you a little extra energy, which in turn can help you be more active, but it does not have any mystical powers that burn fat off your body.

Nope, only a calorie deficit helps to promote weight loss.

But, if you like green tea, enjoy!

I drink the X50 Green Tea range as they have many flavours and can be drunk hot or cold, they suppress my hunger and help with energy slightly...... Its better than a fizzy drink I guess and a bit mind of matter in the end :-) You can now get them from Priceline or I recommend getting them off Ebay normally cheapest place.
