Lost motivation. .....

I've been successful at losing weight before .... this time I don't seem to be losing any at all .... :( needing a change but I don't know what ... :/

Please help if you can.

    What's stopping you? Over eating? Just not losing and can't see why?

    I just had my Second child about 7 weeks ago. So since he has been born I have been on a diet .. I have been very good with the eating except at night when I get bored I usually play my game and over eat .. I tried just drinking water but then when I get up to fees him I start eating again ... I got on the scale and lost weight so I got motivated fast, I started working out about 3 weeks ago, and eating less ... then I just had my postpartum check up and gained 6lbs back ... I'm 5'9" and almost 240 .... NEVER have I been this much while not pregnant :( it's very embarrassing for me to face my family or go out.. I don't know what to start doing..

    You've just had a child (Congratulations) - please give yourself a break.
    In the meantime, I'd suggest going to your doctor and speaking to him/her before you start any kind of 'diet'. If you're breast feeding, I assume the rules change somewhat so you need to be clear on how to go about doing this. Your body has just been through a major thing (albeit a miracle) so don't put so much pressure on yourself.

    Boredom eating is something I'm familiar with but it really is down to you. Whilst you shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself with a newborn baby to care for, you need to find ways to keep busy that won't result in you reaching for the snacks. The odd treat is fine but it's the over-eating that is causing the gaining, that is what you need to remember.

    Congrats on having your baby :smile: You need to give your body time to recover from the birth.
    Start off with a smaller deficit so you're not feeling deprived. Try and get moving too as that helps you feel better mentally as well as physically. Sometimes its just a matter of making small changes which in turn creates better and lasting habits.

    You are still recovering from your birth, the pressure to loose weight after having a baby so soon is crazy, go for brisk walks with the pram, and eat clean but nutritious, if you are having broken sleeps that may be hindering your progress and it might not get better for a while, try to get rest especially in the afternoons. I could never put my body through a diet after birth, enjoy your wee baby, post natal yoga is great for energy and strengthening up. Best wishes.

    Congratulations on your baby! Please be gentle with yourself while you recover from pregnancy and birth. Make sure you're eating enough calories to sustain your milk supply if your breast feeding - maybe check with a lactation consultant/baby nurse.

    Agree with the others to start off on a smaller deficit and aim for gradual loss. If you're snacking a lot, would it be helpful to portion out some snacks? Things like hardboiled eggs, fruit, vegie sticks etc for you to graze on when you're up with baby and feeding etc.

    Thank you ♡ the pressure to look good even right after a baby is one of the hardest thing so deal with..I work at the casino nd not looking good you get so much stuff said to u.. usually I ignored it but maybe it's the postpartum I don't know. I had to go back to work within 5 weeks of the baby and with my first child I got 3 months off and went back slimmer then before.. this one I'm not. Bouncing back as fast ... I'm 20 I thought I'd go back almost immediately.

    Congrats on baby. But remember hormone shifts postpartum also lack of sleep with a new baby can contribute as well. Enjoy your baby cut yourself some slack and make healthier choices less processed foods.

    Only 5 weeks off?? That's crazy. That's why I love living in Canada. We get a year off paid. But I feel your pain. When I had my first I lost all the weight the day he was born and another 12 pounds after that. I had my daughter 4.5 months ago and after she was born I only lost 10 pounds and I gained twice as much with her as I did my son. I was 188lbs when I kicked my *kitten* into gear about 3 months ago and have lost 30lbs since then. The key is to want it so bad. Also never diet. Dieting is setting yourself up only to be let down at a later date. Go for clean healthy eating and you'll feel great. I hit the gym 4 times a week and was never a gym person before 2 months ago. You can do it. Just stay focused and be determined.
