I suppose it depends on your definition of too nice...
Being from Texas I'm a natural born flirt - I try to be very careful with that until I get to know someone and they know it is in fun and innocence - but I'm always nice - often to a fault - and have found it to be a GREAT way to make friends... Harder to meet women overall, but the ones that like me for being the "Nice Guy" are the ones I like anyway :P lol
So I'm all for being super nice to others - especially here - so many people struggling with healthy living, and they get lambasted for posting a question or topic - I say give 'em love and support and lead by example not through dictation of rules :):)

If someone is scared away by an overly nice person, then that would make me question their mentality.

Would they prefer an obnoxious or mean person? If that is the case, I'd say they have issues.

I dont have a problem making friends with men but it seems I do with other woman..buts its just been lately. I think I am a very nice person so not sure what I am doing wrong. Thought maybe I was being too nice.

Honestly, it depends on the situation someone's being 'nice' in and in what fashion.

What are you doing that makes you think you're being TOO nice? Saying 'hi' when you see them wouldn't count as too nice, so what would?

I honestly dont know...I know I am not being mean...so I thought maybe I am being too nice( In reality I dont think anyone can be too nice). I guess I am really open and honest with people. (honest about myself not about them) Never had any issues before making friends with women but seems the last few years they stay away. The few female friends I have say i am doing nothing wrong..not sure.
I find men are so easy going and easy to talk to . Never have any issues with them.

I don't know what you mean by nice. I suppose if you were always helping by giving your opinion, showing up unannounced to "help" out, etc. Intrusive.

    Yep. Definitely.

Here's an example: My sister in law is always coming to visit. I love her and enjoy that she is staying with us, but....everytime she comes down, she see something she can do to help.

--Bought energy saving bulbs for the whole house and brought them with her. I'm sure it was expensive and she meant well, but there are certain places where I want the old bright bulbs, like my bathroom.

--Always buying something on sale and brining it to us when she comes down. Again, very nice, but, if I want exotic fruit or special grocery bag clips, I'll get them myself.

--She's very intelligent and well-read and always knows a better way to do something. She usually has a valid point, but, I'm intelligent and well-read as well, and sometimes I prefer to do things in a certain manner. (There are many routes between Point A and Point B.)

Having said all that, I love Jody and deal with everything she thows at me because I know that her intentions are pure. (My daughter and I just roll our eyes behind her back once and a while.)

    I probably sound like a d*ck,.
