The Big Step

Howdy.

I'm Desu, a married mom of three who works on a crazy med-surg floor as an RN. I've been overweight for 10 years, after I went through a crisis and was put on medications that packed on the pounds while leaving me as motivated as a sloth.

Last Thursday, I decided I was not only tired of being fat, I was tired of doing the weight loss dance alone. My PCP prescribed a gym membership, Adipex, and a dietician.

I'm excited to meet with the dietician. My three boys are all skinny as a rail and my husband maintains at 3500-4000 cals /day.Trying to cook for all of us is nuts.
On top of that, I work away from home 3 days/week, and don't always have access to refrigeration.

So, here I am. Excited. Afraid. I want to lose weight, I want to be stronger. I don't have any medical goals (my labs are all WNL) but I have some number goals to go by! Ultimately I'm shooting for 200lbs, maybe 180 if I can really get going. And I want to be able to run a 12 min mile!

Anywho, thanks for stopping by!
