I had surgery 5-15-12, lost 135lbs, a year later became pregnant with twins. Gained all 135lbs right back. Now my girls are 10 months, and I'm at 305lbs.... time to make a change....

I have several friends that had RNY and the same thing happened to them. Studies now show the rate of people regaining all or most of their weight back is much higher than yrs ago when it was developed. I know it is life saving for many but there is no surgery that changes lifestyle choices and behaviors. You'll get there! Being a new mom is tough. A mom of twins even tougher. Good luck on your journey. I'm sure you know what changes need to occur!

@ronnilwright I wish you success. The wife gave birth to our twins nearly 18 years ago and that itself was a awesome game changer.

Most people can not do Low Carb High Fat but without knowing about it I started that way of eating a year ago for pain management and it started controlling my pain levels 30 days later. 6 months later it cured my IBS of 40 years. I also am slowing losing weight but I eat 2600 to lose and 3000 to maintain so there is nothing low calorie about my new eating lifestyle.

I do not recommend you or others to get off of sugars and grains like I did because I know nothing about you medically. Plus web forums are not the place to give or receive medical advice.

I do recommend you use Google and find out what others did that are in the same boat as your are post bariatric surgery. Do you still visit the doctor that did the surgery?

Best of success in getting a new plan and implementing it.

Gale what kind of pain where you trying to manage with diet. I am having what is now termed chronic pain and I am following a diet very similar to yours. How long before you noticed difference in pain. I just don't like taking medication and would like to lead a more active less pain filled life. Thanks.

Chasity it stems from joint pain/muscle tightness. I have Ankylosing Spondylitis form of arthritis. It has fused me from head to tail bone. I had both hips replaced 1 Aug 1991. It hit me hard when I was about 25 so it is about all I can remember.

30 days after I left foods containing sugars and or grain my pain level that I rated 7-8 dropped to 2-3 and has been that low for about a year now.

Taking NSAIDS for pain all of those years ripped my stomach for sure. The 40 years of IBS was cured in 6 months and the slow weight loss is another plus.

It was the doctors wanting me to start Enbrel injections that made me to get serious about trying diet only to manage my pain.

The eating lifestyle is working for me. My <50 carbs come from coconut flakes, almonds, dairy like cottage cheese, celery, etc. I like 5 eggs over easy medium and 6 pieces of bacon with 2-3 cups of coffee with about 2 oz of HWC (36% butter fat) in each cup mid to late afternoon daily.

Not sure if my diet would be helpful to others but Google and read up on it if interested. I think my heavy coconut oil usage may have help cure my long term IBS.

I am a guy that can eat the same thing every day for 10 years and be happy. I did not do this to lose weight but to keep from getting cancer, etc from Enbrel injections that knocks down one's immune system.

I am in love with coconut oil I am following paleoish style. Lots of veggies, some fruit, no grain. My diet is high fat grass fed butter and coconut oil. Lots of energy but not so much pain relief yet. Your post makes me hopeful. NSAIDS have caused a lot of gastro distress lately so trying to avoid as much as possible. Thanks for your input.
