I have about 20 kg's to lose ATM
    7kgs gone!
The number one tip on MFP is to weigh your food on scales.
My tip is if you go over your daily calories learn from it.
    Don't hide it log it.

I am new as well i have 150lbs to lose. Every day is a struggle I look in the mirror and think it's too much. So, I try to take it one day at a time. It's a daunting task After my first 5k (I came in 3rd to last but I made it) I made a promise that next year I would run it....and I made a commitmeyto do a mud run next year. So any help would be awesome.
  • Awesome that ur working to ur goals and doing it for yourself I think it's far too easy to fail trying to reach something for someone else! I'm wanting to do it to be able to keep up with my kids and for good health! I'd love to be able to be able to do something like a marathon but I think I'm a longgg way off just yet!

I have been logging in daily for awhile now, and it does get easier! Take the word "try" out of your thinking. I log in daily, its just not what I try to do. I eat more veggies, and stop eating after dinner. I know I will never be a person that can go off this lifestyle. I will always be mindful of what I eat. Its easy to just eat what the family eats, or not weigh this, or just not walk to do anything this day. Its easy to settle and not put myself first. What is a great feeling is when I eat everything I have planned to eat, logged it all in, got in some exercise, drank my 80-90 oz of liquid a day, and rest my head at night. I feel powerful. I love to end my days like that. So my way of thinking is: Change my mind, change my body. To do what I say and say what I mean. To not just be a talker of wanting to live a healthy life, but to live it. To get serious about treating my body with respect. No filling it with junk. Just great things that will keep it going strong. Add me if you wish.
  • Thanks guys! And yeah ur right Annr I've found I've 'tried' before a few times to set my goals and reach them however before like u say it was way easier to chuck anything in my mouth on the go and I found myself with so many excuses but this time it's different even the little things like going to shop for my kids sweets I don't now i mean tonight I had a little nibble on a galaxy but I won't punish myself for it as I've done well last few days and been strict so a treat with my earned cals from exercise compensated a tad!

this phrase helps me: "losing weight isn't the key to happiness, happiness is the key to losing weight"
    also:
Change your mind, change your body.
