Switching it up

i have been logging my food & exercise for over 500 days.
My weight is staying or maintaining no change for several weeks/months. I've decided to switch things up a bit; I'm going to continue logging & recording food/calorie intake. I've decided to use the Military or 3 day diet. Wish me luck, I'm hoping the slight change will boost some more weight loss

Hi, I just took a little look at your food log (I hope you don't mind)
I only looked at the last couple of days but it looks like you drink a lot of soda? I know a lot of these are "diet" versions and have no calories, but I would recommend and see if you could cut back on those and drink water instead? Might just be that small thing that helps you get over this plateau0 -
Rather than doing that, I would suggest working on tightening up your logging. Generic entries, no sign of a food scale being used, nothing logged at all on Thursday. You're maintaining because you're eating at maintenance. Additionally, with twelve pounds to go, 1000 calories is going to be too low of a number for you (and is lower than recommended). You should be aiming for half a pound a week, weighing and logging your food accurately.

Hi Emmy15rocks. I went 2 years without soda and honestly saw no real change so I thought what's the point. I do see your point, water is the best beverage option for weight loss.0

If you are not losing weight over a sustained period, then you are not eating at a calorie deficit.
A quick look at your diary shows inaccurate logging, you are not logging anything in grams, so I assume you are not using a food scale, and inflated calorie burns.
You are eating more than you think, leading to an intake of maintenance level calories.emmy15rocks wrote: »Hi, I just took a little look at your food log (I hope you don't mind)

What is your rationale behind this recommendation?0 -
Good morning Malibu927. Absolutely you're correct no scale, but I measure everything out using measuring cups, etc. As far as no entry on a specific Thursday , mfp app has not been accurate on my logging. I have contacted them. As far as my calorie intact, I did not adjust it; as I have lost weight my app has adjusted my profile on its own. I'm not sure how or why but a scale, more accurate logging, reducing soda (again) & adding calories all which have been suggested by mfp members will be introduced today as I start a new week0

The only thing you need to "change up" is being in a deficit. If you are maintaining then you are not in a deficit. Make sure you are and you will start to lose again.0

This.
Switching to a drastic diet is unnecessary, plus what's going to happen once you're done with it? You still won't lose anything when you get back to your normal diet if you don't start eating less.
And measuring cups are not accurate at all when it comes to measuring solids.0
