I can't help you w/ coupons but I am pretty broke and do real well w/ eating healthy on a shoe string budget. I eat Progresso Light and Campbell's Select Harvest Light soups alot. I buy the store brand light yogurt and mix it with fresh fruit. I watch my portion sizes w/ the "not so healthy but cheap stuff" and eat larger portions of veggies so I won't need as much of the other stuff. Most of the time I have found that the store brand is cheaper than name brand WITH a coupon so I quit stressing over it and went that direction. It also keeps me from justifying a purchase just because I have a coupon...eeegadz!0

I'll tell you what someone told me before. Buy frozen veggies--they last longer and are not expensive! You can buy them organic or conventional. Buy in bulk when you can. I just went from being vegetarian to being vegan. I bought dried beans that last a while and you just have to soak them in water overnight. No salt added like in the can. I also have some frozen fruits but I splurge and get fresh grapes, apples, pears, and oranges. Buy fresh stuff locally or when it is in season. See if you have a Farmer's Market around. Good luck in grad school! :drinker:0

Coupons can actually save a LOT more than store brands!! You just have to hold onto that coupon until your store has it on sale. I bought campbells healthy harvest from Safeway one time for 50 cents each!! That's a pretty good savings...Good luck in your coupon expedition!0 -

I'm a family of 7 and a stay at home mom. I do coupons and surf the web and get deals. Look into your local flyers when they come out and you can plan your week by what is on sale. I agree buying the store brand does save money but also you have to be wise on using coupons. If you have a coupon and the store brand will save you money, then that's a no brainer! But, buying frozen veggies will last and look into a local farmer's market and always, always go with a list and a plan and most importantly....a calculator! This will help keep you on track for your goal. This has worked because I had a groccery bill today of $212 and with coupons and my bonus savings it came out to $112. Keep in mind that is a 2 week for a family of 7. It takes patience and time but you will get it.0
