What is the best way to get started to get results in strength training for me - body weight exercises (ie burpees, push ups, mountain climbers, tricep dips, planks) or heavy lifting (ie new rules for women)?
I used to be very active and in shape and over the last 2 years I had some injuries and joint pain and basically let myself go and am now at my heaviest weight and have 40 lbs to lose. I'm feeling miserable in this body and have more aches and pains due to carrying a lot of weight on my small frame. I am eager to get in shape fast and not lose muscle. I know it'll take time but I'd like to start a program that will be the most effective for me at a more beginner level again.
