Tips that work for me:
1. be vegan
2. caffeine
3. never eat anything bigger than your fist.
4. weigh yourself every single morning
5. apples0 -
Exercise (cardio) to lose, weights to tone. Eat healthy, lean protein, veggies, fruit, whole wheat grains. And it takes time to take it off so be patient and consistent. Develop a strong support system, feel free to add me. Do it for you, no one else.0

I don't obtain transitive vegan properties by eating animals that are vegan?0 -
DON'T set yourself a target TIME to lose x amount of weight..It distresses me when people write about how they have no chance of losing 30 lbs in 5 weeks so they can fit into a bikini/wedding dress!!
think of this as a lifestyle change rather than 'diet & exercise' !!
Have some idea of how much you would like to lose, and the rate at which you want to lose it.
follow mfp's suggested intake and supplement it with GOOD cardio exercises...having 3 kids and a hectic schedule to boot all count as it seems as if you are on the go a lot.
I am a vegetarian and was 'obese'..now im 'overweight'...but exercise WITH a sensible eating habit will help weight loss much quicker than diet alone, but in time diet alone will bring very good results.
Read the forums, make some friends and be true to yourself...you have made a FANTASTIC lifestyle choice and the people in this community are just fantastic motivators.
ohhh...one more thing....have FUN doing this!!!!0 -

all of them are excellent suggestions...but I personally have stopped daily weigh-ins and do them weekly now.0 -
looks like I'm going to have to get used to going back and checking things (not like on FB where they let you know ppl said things)....
All are great tips! Thanks guys!
I now have my hubby and a few of my best friends on this journey with me. It makes it so much easier to stay on track ~ especially since my husband is with me on it.
I just purchased a (used) stationary bike with the arm things... (you use your arms as well as your legs)... I have a good feeling about getting active and fit... I know I can't just jump right in and expect to get results. I know it's going to take time and dedication. For the first time in my life, I have a "I can do this!!" attitude and I'm looking forward to seeing the results...0
