Sort of new to losing weight!

Hi, my name is Bia! I'm 23 and I've been overweight my whole life. I've been up and down with my weight. My highest was 190 lbs after college in 2012. I finally went to gym with my friends for a few months and I went down to 170. After I moved last year and started working I lost 10 more. Unfortunately, the winter holidays brought me back to 180 above and I've been struggling to stay below it.

My problem is motivation. I have poor self-motivation. I do get motivated from seeing success stories and do good with exercise and healthy eating for a week until I'm like "screw it, I need this ice cream" and then the "I'll restart tomorrow" talk thing starts.

Currently, I'm 176 but I had 2 whole cheat days. Not to worry, I'm determined to not go overboard tomorrow. I work out with my coworkers for 1 hr every Tuesday and Thursday and I try to exercise at least 30 mins a day. My eating could be better. Why is it that I know a lot about nutrition but I can never make myself practice what I preach? I'm a nurse btw and my mother is a nutritionist (the irony, I know).

I would like to make friends and learn how to motivate myself to stay consistently healthy.
