The Power of the Word Yet

I just find the word yet to be extremely empowering. Saying you haven't done something yet shows intent and confidence that you will in fact do it in the future. What things haven't you done yet?
I haven't run a 10k race yet.
I haven't purchased and completed Insanity Asylum yet.
I don't have a six pack yet.

I'm not sure I'm with you on this one. I understand what you mean but when I say the sentences to myself like :
I haven't dropped a dress size yet...
It seems to me as though it's discouraging. I understand the intent implied... but also the affirmation that I haven't reached my goal. Perhaps, for me, adding the phrase "But, I will." works better. To me the "But, I will" makes a stronger statement of purpose which can then overpower the mood-deflating "haven't".
Know what I mean?
I haven't run a mile yet, but I will.
That felt pretty good.0
