so I have been trying to lose weight like every other person out there. I have been doing my calorie counting, I stay under the allowed portion, and BAM!!!!! I am still gaining weight. I have gained a total of 29 pounds. Holly *kitten*, I seriously need to do something about this.

I'll echo other posters - are you calculating your portions correctly?
I've lost 30lbs and that was 'without' an electronic food scale - a lot of it is common sense. I have just recently purchased an electronic food scale to 'tighten up' the logging as I'm very close to goal. I'm sure this'll help but I don't think it's 100% essential to weigh every single thing you put in your mouth but certainly be aware. I'd say for the meantime, purchase that scale and see if that helps you. For some, it definitely can0 -
its taken you 29 pounds to realise something isn't working right?!0

get a food scale and start eating less.0 -
If you are truly counting calories and staying under the goal, then your goal is set too high, but it shouldn't have taken gaining 29 lbs to figure that out.0

I agree. This sounds like a health issue rather than a diet issue. If you're measuring, recording, and the scale is going the wrong way you might have something else happening. Best to check that out first. Good luck!0

Not helpful.0 -
You did not gain weight eating at a deficit. Counting isn't enough, you have to consume less than you burn.
It is time to get back to the drawing board and recalculate your plan.0 -
How many calories per day are you consuming?
Asking again, how many calories are you eating? From your original post it sounds like you gained 29 lbs, but then changed to start eating at a deficit, but still seem to be gaining. Is that right?
If you give us some stats on yourself (height, current weight) we might be able to give you better info. As a 27-yo male, you can probably eat quite a bit of calories and still lose, though you do have to track them accurately to be sure.0 -
If you've really been honest in your calorie counting and logging, not skipping a "binge day" or anything like that, then I'd suggest seeing a doctor. 29 lbs is a lot to gain when you believe you are eating at a deficit. It might be time to consult a professional.0

Thanks a lot for all the helpful advice. I was not using scales. I already bought one and started doing everything the right way (I think) since yesterday. I have gained those 29 pounds in a period of 7 months. Little by little but it added up. I was under a lot of stress and that sucked. Definitely on a better track now. Thanks for the support, as per the negative comments I really could care less, there is people out there that don't understand that every body is different and that it is hard to achieve some goals more so than others. I didn't know I had my diary closed. I will open it for the people that want to help out. Thanks a lot again.0
