30lbs. down with hypothyroid!

I had a professional picture taken of me in May and I was shocked. I really didn't see myself so big until that picture.
Tried Atkins, didn't lose a pound. So I went to my doctor just to see what I'm doing wrong and found out I have hypothyroid. Since then I've been able to lose weight and feel so much better too.
Just working on my calorie intake and exercising every other day I've lost 30.1 pounds in 105 days!
I don't see it yet, but I'm told it's really changed my face. Here's a before and after. May to today!

You look great! Did the doctor prescribe any meds for thyroid? Is that also helping you losing weight? or is it only change in diet and exercise that has helped?0

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). Thyroid meds (in my case, Synthroid & Cytomel) reduce the fatigue so I can be more active. But I still kept gaining until I learned to log everything I eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.
I lost the weight long before my thyroid levels ever entered the "normal" range by following the advice in the Sexypants post: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p10 -
Simply outstanding!!! Hypothyroid as well following a total thyroidectomy and continually inspired by all the successes on MFP.0

Thank you!
I do take levothyroxine 6 days a week and skip one day. Still trying to find my perfect dose but it's been a big work in progress. I also take fiber, b12, a multivitamin and selenium. I've been exhausted lately after my workouts so my doctor is checking my iron as well since hypothyroid can cause iron deficiency.
But I do have to say without my meds I couldn't lose weight. In fact when I tried to diet before I'd gain weight, it wasn't until a month into taking my meds I started losing any.0 -
Check out Dr. Jeffrey Brown - endocrinologist. He is changing the treatment of hypothyroidism, especially as it relates to sports performance. His work is very controversial among endocrinologists, but his results are amazing!0
