Hi. I'm new to myfitnesspal.
I've got over 100 pounds to lose, but I'm doing it. I've lost 7.5 pounds so far. What I'm doing to start with is a version of clean eating... I've completely eliminated white sugar, white flour, processed foods, cheese and caffeine from my diet. I can't exercise currently, because I have a severe case of plantar fasciitis, which makes it hurt to even walk. I'm hoping to take off about 20 pounds quickly just from diet, and think that will help me heal my feet, and then I'm going to throw myself into exercise too!
I'm excited, because in just the week that I've been eating this way, I already feel SO much better, and I'm not craving any of the things I've given up. I really expected to, but I don't! I want to keep this great attitude and just stay positive, stay motivated, and GET healthy! I'd love a person to buddy up with and keep each other motivated.
Have a great day!
Jessica

Well 1st off welcome--second congrats on the weight loss--third yes you can exercise!!! I started this program in March right after Achilles tendon surgery- laid up in a cast no wt bearing. you can do isometrics--you can do "chair dancing" Richard Simmons even has a DVD for people in wheel chairs for cardio- you can lift wts--or dumbells or soup cans. sit ups, knee push ups- If you really want to lose wt the right way you gotta get moving. And congrats on the clean eating--oh yeah doing it for years--(ps you can still get fat on it--but so much more healthy) if you want to and i didnt offend feel free to friend me--would love a pic though

welcome- I have loved using this site, I have currently lost 80lbs and have 30 more to go. I have plantar facetious as well, but not as bad as yours sounds to be
have you tried using the elliptical? by using it you wouldn't be putting so much pressure on your feet and would still be able to work out.
cutting out refined and proccesed food will make a HUGE difference in how you feel and your weight. we don't eat any of that and it helps a bunch. I still drink 2 diet cokes a week though. do you like fresh spinach leaves? if so a great afternoon snack is a spinach salad with a light dressing (we use brianna's) I eat that daily as a snack and its great for you

Welcome! I, too, have decided to make a lifestyle change after many years of being unhappy with my weight and physical activity. You have a great attitude!! I have found a resolve in me to accomplish my goal that I have not had before.

I'd love to be a buddy, a sounding board, a source of encouragement, and cheer leader for you!!

    Together we can do this!

Welcome to MFP, this is a great site for motivation and keeping track of everything, food, and excercise. I want to lose 80 pound and I am almost half way there. I don't exercise daily but try to do it 3 times a week. I wish you the best and you can add me as a friend if you wish. You did the hardest part already you are taking your life back.!!!

Welcome and nice to see you doing so well already. When I worked with the elderly I had them do the Leslie Sansone dvd in a chair. That might be something you try so you can be able to work in some exercise. Best of luck on your journey to healthy!

Welcome! You've found a very supportive place to be. I've lost 86lbs so far and if I'm honest, I probably have another 100lbs to go. Feel free to friend me, I'm on here a lot! :flowerforyou:

Try using frozen water bottles for your feet. (roll your feet over them). trainers advise to my husband when he had plantar fasciaitis.

I am new to MFP too. so far it has been a great way to honestly keep a track of my diet and exercise. My main goal is to live a healthy life so I have more energy and can get the most out of my life. I have lost 20 pounds over the past 3 years by making changes in my diet and exercise routines. I still have some work to do to get to a healthy balance but I am working for progress rather than perfection.
