Maybe you are not meant to be as low weight as you are trying to be. There's a book called The Don't Go Hungry Diet which explains the phenomenon of your bodies ideal weight quite well.

How much time was between the 53kg weight and the 57kg weight? If it literally happened overnight, it's water weight gain and nothing you need to worry about.

    How tall are you?

@MissJay75 it certainly did not happen overnight, it's been 2mths already since the weight loss plateau when I'm stuck at 53kg and gained till 57kg now:( I'm 157cm

    @Patttience Thank You☺️

@IsaackGMOON One problem that I find with the loggings is that I dont know how to log in homemade food because it varies everyday. How do people actually log in everyday?

I only eat foods that I KNOW what the calories are, whether food I cook for myself, frozen foods, canned foods, fast foods, or whatever - If I don't know how many calories it is, I don't eat it. Period.

Create a recipe for it. Use the old recipe builder...weigh your ingredients and find an entry on the data base that matches what you are using. It takes a little time but it is well worth the effort.

Tiptop, weight gain and loss comes primarily from the foods you eat. Unless you open your diary, we can't really help you.

I did some math, and it looks like you are around 5'2", and went from around 143 pounds down to 116, then back up to 125.

How long did it take you to get down to 53 kg? What has changed in your life and in your habits since you started gaining weight?

@atypicalsmith Hi there! Thank you for the advice:) I know of many people who do thAt too but it's hard especially during festive seasons or on special occasions. But I will take note and try to change!

@Annie_01 Hi Annie! Yup I've tried creating my own recipe, gone through and double checked with severAl databases, sure is difficult that's why I stopped doing it. But you're right, if I want to lose weight, I'll have to put in the effort! Thank you:)

@MissJay75 Hi Miss Jay, i think its slightly around 6-7mths to get me to 53kg and I've been hanging and gaining ever since. Now that you mentioned it, I think my diary is filled with snacks on almost everyday, I really love cereals, bread, biscuits but I dont consume chips etc. I'm trying very hard to curb my cravings for them, but I cant seem to get my mind off it. As much as I go online to search for healthy recipes, the ingredients are expensive and hard to find, this reason is like 90% why I consume snacks when I'm hungry, any tips on how you curb cravings and what simple healthy snacks you make?

The snacks are likely causing you to go over calorie goal for the day, hence the weight gain. Some of it may be water weight returning if you were eating really low carb before.

    My suggestions are this:
    1) Tighten up your logging. Snacks are OK. But you have to log them and fit them into your calorie goal for the day. I eat pizza, chips, and skittles on a regular basis. But I fit them into my calories for the day.
    2) Try lowering your calorie deficit to losing half a pound a week. This will give you a few more calories each day so you don't feel deprived.
    3) Try moving more. If you burn more calories, you can eat more snack things without it derailing you. Again - measure and log. And be careful not to overestimate your burn from exercise.
    4) Get loads of protein! It helps you feel more satiated so you don't get the craving for snacks quite so bad.
    5) Fill your diet with lots of fresh fruits and veggies. If will help you feel fuller, but with fewer calories, so you can fit in snacks without going over your calories for the day.

Can you give me an example of healthy foods that are expensive? I eat a lot of chicken, which is around $2.50 a pound - that is less expensive per pound than the snacks you are buying. I cook a bunch of chicken breasts in the crockpot, and then keep shredded chicken in the fridge to add to soups, salads, put in a tortilla or pita with some dressing for a quick wrap.

-Buy lettuce for salad, and a low calorie salad dressing. Cook up some chicken and add to the salad for protein!
    -Eggs are super cheap!
-Yogurt can be decent priced. I love the Fred Meyer Carbmaster yogurt. It's like 60 calories, 9gr protein, and tastes fantastic. They are 40 cents per cup.
-If you don't want to make your own, canned soups are a great option.

If you do a search in these forums for inexpensive healthy food options you will be reading for days - believe me, this topic has had a lot of discussion.
