Weight gain

this week I decided to eat back some of my exercise calories (not all of them) and I've gained 2lbs. Last week I ate none of them and lost 4lbs but felt very weak most days.
Am I suppose to eat them or not?????

How many calories are you eating back? Like 200-400? Or is it way more?0

It's hard to gain 2lbs in a week, so it's probably just water weight from eating a bit more. What's your overall calorie intake? How much are you burning (and with what exercises?) and how much are you eating back?0

It's unlikely that you lost four pounds of fat in one week or gained two back. What you're seeing are probably mostly water weight fluctuations.0

Thanks for your replies. I'm eating 1200 a day. Want to loose approx 2lbs a week.
I burn between 300-500 calories 3 times a week x0 -
Oh and I'm was only eating 1/2 of the excessive calories back not all of them x0

you also need to check and see how accurate your logging is. use a food scale and weigh everything.0

On only 1200, you should be eating back at least half of your exercise calories. How are you calculating how much you've burnt? The MFP calculators overestimate.
Either way, it's not real weight gain, it's water0 -

This, and stop obsessing over the scale. Weight fluctuates, whether it is water weight or whatever else. Forget the gain, stick to your goals and it will work out in the long run.

I use my tomtom watch when I go running. It tells me how many calories I've burned each time. But I don't eat them all back.
Anyway, thanks for all your comments
Fingers crossed it's just water. My clothes are feeling a bit looser anyway so that's a good thing. Xx0 -

Could it be water retention or natural weight fluctuation? In order to gain 2 lbs you have to eat 7,000 over your TDEE, which I'm pretty sure you didn't if you only ate your exercise calories back.0 -
Wow really?? I had no idea! Definitely not eaten that much!! Thankyou0
