Hi everyone,
I'm obese and this is the fifty billionth time I have tried to change my lifestyle. Only difference this time is that two months ago I had surgery where my doctor removed a large lump (10cms x 10cms) from my uterus, a week later when I got my stitches out I received a massive lecture from my doctor about how I need to lose weight. It's not an option anymore. (For those interested, the lump is fine and is not cancer or anything too serious)
My BMI is 39! If I was just one more bigger, my doctor wouldn't have been able to operate on me. If my husband and I weren't trying for a baby, I wouldn't have even known I had the lump inside me. I should know my body better.
So I sat there in my doctors office while he lectured me and promised I would try better. He spoke to me about how it's all in my head, some people are just wired that way and I need to change my thinking. He wasn't expecting miracles, all he wanted was for me to try eat more vegetables and go for walks. He would be so happy for me to lose one kilogram a MONTH.
Two months on and my follow up appointment is in two weeks, I haven't changed any of my habits. Last night I started reading articles on the psychology of weight loss and picked up some good tips, one is why I'm here on My Fitness Pal now.
So, hi everyone! I'm going to try relearn my habits and I'd love to hear any tips that has helped you along your journey.
Cheers,
Jasmin
