Pesceterian/vegetarian

I've recently become a pescetarian. Just curious if anyone has any tips or meal ideas? Thanks :)

    Fish, tuna, shrimp, eggs or egg whites, greek yogurt, protein shakes, quest bars. You can have dairy right? I don't eat red meat or poultry but eat fish and dairy.

    there are a ton of different recipe for fish to be found online. As there are so many different varieties of fish, not to mention seafood. Cookie & Kate is a vegan website that has a lot of very good recipes for vegetarians.

    I like to include fish & shrimp a couple times each week for dinner.

    Otherwise I prepare vegetable soups, pastas, quesas & burritos, pizza with fresh vegetable toppings (and nuts), black bean burgers, stuffed spaghetti squash, broccoli cheese baked potatoes, tofu coconut curry over rice, spinach stuffed shells, corn fritters, tempeh tacos...

    Honestly, the sky's the limit. I stopped eating meat November 2014 and truly have not missed it.

    I cook salmon in my cast iron on the stovetop. 4-5 mins both sides. I cook it in unsalted butter and garlic cloves.

    I also like a baked salmon recipe, cooked in creamy coconut milk.

    I have dairy free foods. I have an intolerance to milk.

    I am not. (Porterhouse steak is my favorite thing on earth) But I also LOOOOVE seafood and cook it often. My tip is to focus on cuisines that are traditionally seafood focused like Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese and Carribean.

    Which means that instead of trying "pescatarize" traditional meat dishes like burgers and meatballs and being disappointed at the concoctions, you will focusing on working with the texture and flavors of ALL kinds of seafood.

    My favorite types of fish are: salmon (because you can marinade it a millions ways and just broil it, easy!) and for white fish: Mahi, yellow tail snapper, hog snapper and orange roughy (because they are super mild and often taste amazing with only garlic, Onions, olive oil and capers, easy!)
    And I love shrimp and scallops because they are so quick to cook (lemon butter and garlic, sautéed and done!)

    Wow I need to eat more fish. As I do tend to enjoy it when I eat it but just never do lol. That's my new goal lol. Thanks :)

    I don't eat much red meat, so fish and shrimp are staples in my diet. In fact dinner tonight was some shrimp from the freezer, some green salsa, and some greens wrapped up in a tortilla. The bags of frozen seafood are easy to keep on hand for stuff like that.

    Is it to lactose or to casein? Because there are a lot of lactose-free options that taste the same as their regular dairy counterparts. I don't tolerate lactose at all, but I tolerate the Lactaid products very well.

    I've cut way back on meat over the last few years. I bought a couple of Yotam Ottolenghi's cookbooks (Plenty More is my favorite!) because they're very veggie-focused and so tasty. The recipes might seem daunting at first but are so worth it to try.
