Pregnancy and working out...

So I recently found out I'm pregnant, my first prenatal appointment is Monday, and I think I'm only about 1 month along. I'm ecstatic! But myy question to ladies who are/were pregnant, what's your heart rate like during your workouts? I find that it takes barely anything to get it to 140, which is the recommended number as far as heart rates go. It's crazy! I'm sure I'll talk to my doc about it, but did anyone else feel the same? What was your experience like working out while pregnant? I'm 31 by the way...

I worked out through my whole pregnancy but I never had a HRM. Especially in the first trimester make sure to take it a bit easy. I just listened to my body and if something is uncomfortable, don't do it.

I've had 12 children and worked out with nearly every pregnancy. With my twins I worked out until about 7 and a half months. I did step aerobics with them and I found that by the 4th month I could hardly take it. I found that it basically make me nauseous the harder I worked and sweated. So at that point I began to walk several miles until I was almost done with the pregnancy. But my single pregnancies were fine to workout all the way through. But even then, overkill in my workouts would always bring on nausea. But for sure talk to your doctor and see what he says about it for you.
good luck,

Keep in mind that the pregnant body produces an extra pint of blood in preparation for child birth. This would make the heart work a little bit harder. Slowing your routine down may help. Keep an eye on your blood pressure, as this can cause a change in heart rate. It is also possible that you may be subconsciously anxious about exercising during pregnancy and this could be raising your heart rate. But, check with your doctor about it to be on the safe side.0
