My 4 year old grandson called me fat grandma...That broke my heart...My husband has been all over me for years to do something about my weight.... I was 150 when we got married. .. When my grandson was born I was around 289 now I'm 324.. I am a stress eater.. I have had a lot of it in my life... I know it's an excuse, but some days I'm just not happy...My sister I barely talked to was murdered...I have a lot of unresolved feelings about that...My entire family stopped talking to me over 4 years ago... My husband was an ironworker he fell off a building and broke all four limbs and head injury in '98... I had to take care of him ( and still do)while I was pregnant with my 16 year old...At that time I had 2 small kids and was sick from the pregnacy ... In and out of the hospital...It's been a long 17 yr. fight with BWC... They finally disabled my husband... I lost my mind over that...It just goes on and on...I have an appointment next week for an exam to get funeral insurance... Nothing like looking to the future. My husband was sitting next to me when they asked my weight... I freaked and said 290...My husband doesnt know I'm over 300 or hasn't corrected me... Although I seen him look at me....I started watching my calories and quit pop on Thursday and have lost 4 lbs already...I'm hoping I can keep this up. I know it is a life change...I don't work and have no friends I talk to other than an occasional word on FB...

    Welcome to the boards :)

I am so sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time in your life. No one can blame you for gaining weight, you've clearly had far more important things to worry about and to put other things before your calorie counting is only to be expected sometimes. The important thing is, you are ready to make some positive changes for yourself - for your mind and your body.

It doesn't sound like you have a strong support system around you at the moment and I am sorry about that. Please know that this forum will help you enormously if you ever need advice or a 'boost'. It may not be the same as real life 'support' but it certainly helps me when things get a bit difficult.

Wishing you the best of luck, I know you can do this. Keep your head held high and stay positive and you will reach your goals.

Hello. Sorry you had a rough time. I feel for you. But your in the right place now. Get yourself a food scale and start by weighing everything you consume. It'll show you true portions.
Also , look into the group section you might be able to find some groups for support. And add friends on here too, it helps a lot !
    Best of luck !
