Wedding Dress Worthy....

Hi!

My name is Kandice and I am new to this app. I used to be fit all my life until I graduated college and stopped playing softball. I am 5'2 and weight 190 lbs. My weight gain never bothered me because of the way my body carries it. However, I was shocked to realize that my wedding dress would be a size 14/16. What happened to my size 6??? My wedding is next June 2016 and I will be going wedding dress shopping this December 2015. I would like to be at my goal weight of 165lbs by that date. At that weight with my body type I would be about a size 8. Which I would love!! I am looking for friends and someone to stay motivated with. I am doing this for ME! because I want to be the best me possible. My fiancé loves me just the way I am. But I want to turn heads not just on my wedding day but I want to feel great everyday.

Kindly,
Bride2Be

    Hi Kandice! :)

    Congratulations on the wedding!

If you start tracking and logging now, you can lose a healthy and decent amount of weight by December! If you can exercise too, then even better. I'm sure you'll turn heads on your wedding day regardless of whether you lose weight or not but I'm hoping you'll be super confident by then too. Wishing you the best of luck

    Hi PinkPixiexox !!

Thanks so much!! I do plan on eating a lot better, sugar is my weakness. I do plan on working out as much as possible. It will be a lot easier since I am now settled into my daily schedule after moving and starting a new career. I want to get to the point of working out everyday, walking the dogs, elliptical, weight training. I am not familiar with the weight loss process but I am for sure starting now and going to give it my all. How much do you think I would be able to lose, healthy?

I sent you a message but for the benefit of this topic, it varies :)

You will most likely find you lose quite a fair bit in the first 4 weeks. In my first week alone, I lost 6lbs. Yes, this is technically 'water weight' but a loss is a loss in my book, so celebrate it. After the first month, your weight loss should slow to a nice healthy rate .. anything between 0.5 - 2lbs per week. It's all dependent on you, how tight your logging is and the rate your body wants to lose at. I was very strict and didn't once 'fall off the wagon' in my entire 4 months, hence why I did lose 30lbs. My goal was always important to me and I have very strong willpower so I consistently lost 2lb per week. It has now 'slowed' to around 1lb per week as I am very close to goal and I have upped my calories :)

Your exercise plans sound great and will definitely help the process aswell as your mental well being.
Basically, if you give it your all - you'll succeed
