I was there too! Bring a change of clothes and a change of shoes, they will get gross (you can donate them!)

I'm doing it on the 18th. I'm guessing it will either be a lot of fun or a complete disaster!

Are you allowed to take a backpack in with you?

You can take it in with you, and check it for free (I think) at a locker while you run. Then you can get into it after you finish and change clothes. My site offered giant water trucks hosing people down after the muddy race :) so you can likely get pretty clean before you change into your clean outfit. I think they say no outside food/drink, but we had water bottles in our hands and my giant purse and they didn't say anything to us.

My wife, two friends and I are doing it on Sunday the 12th in PA. Haven't really done much training, but I'm not really doing it for a specific time. Just to have a blast with friends and complete it.

I'm soooo psyched for this. I'm like a kid during the last week of school.

Doing the last minute finishing touches to my costume, practice running in the shoes I plan on wearing (and donating after), and hoping the weatherman is wrong about the 40% chance of thunderstorms in the morning on the 11th. Not that I won't get drenched anyway with the swamps and sweating.

I'm very, very glad the weather is going to cool off a bit from the mini-heat wave we're having now.

We ran on the 5th and I LOVED IT!!!! I will definately be doing this again. My only concern is I had red bumps all over my sides/ribs and half way on my back. I've seen other people post on the Warrior Dash facebook site they had the same thing. They started to go away but seemed a little more red today. I'm guessing the bumps were from the pond, creek or mud pit ... which freaks me out thinking about what it could be .... parasites, bugs ... EWWWWW!

Maybe not from the mud pit, as I didn't get those. My race did not include a pond/creek (we are in the desert) so I'm wondering if it is just a seaweed/plant reaction to your skin. Give it a little more time and if it gets worse go see your doctor! Though most rashes go away on their own, the doctor might offer you some steroids to help push it away faster.

SO GREAT that you had a good time!!! I was hoping you would update us on how it was

I have little weepy bumps, somewhere between a pimple and a blister, mostly from the knees down. Reminds me of chicken pox sores, but they don't itch much. The mud (cement!), creek and lake were all much deeper than up to my knees. I don't think it's bug bites, because I tend to get much worse reactions from insects. Maybe some grass or weed we ran through... or maybe the gloppy muddy area that smelled like manure.

Haha! There were a few particularly squelchy spots, but... yeah! I was 9am on Saturday. I could only imagine how much worse it got after several thousand people stampeded through!

It was rough! I consider it a lesson learned. Next year we will definitely be doing the Saturday run instead of Sunday. Parking was an absolute nightmare. People were getting stuck all over the place. I'll be bring my AWD next year as well. Luckily there were some nice people who gave us a push when we got stuck.

They also need to organize the shuttles a little better. They should bring people over to the event by the time of the wave. We were in line behind people who had 12:00 wave times and later and we had a 10:00 am wave time. Inspite of all of this we had an absolute blast and can't wait to do it again.

We were kicking ourselves because my brother now owns the little old cabin my grandfather built in the 1940s that's only 2.5 miles from the shuttle pickup. It would have been easier to walk those 2.5 miles than deal with the parking!
