Weekly meal prep

I've started cooking for myself more often (yay!) thanks to the help of a new cookbook (The Frugal Paleo Cookbook). Though since I'm only one person and most of these recipes are meant for a family, I'm stuck with a lot of left overs. Since I started this I've only made one recipe and it's lasted me a while because I've been out with family a lot lately. Now that I'm starting to get serious, I am thinking of cooking everything at home (with the exception of a weekly family meal).
So since my cookbook is meant for a family I am considering cooking 2 or 3 meals a week and storing the left overs for the rest of the week.
Here's my question:
Has anyone done this?
Any tips?

I freeze as much as I can in individual portions. You could also cut the recipes in 1/2 or even 1/4s0

Paleo is dumb but forgetting that isn't it simple math to get the ingredients down to one person?0
