Hi. Wondering when assessing calories, for example with rolled oats, do I use the dry weight or the weight when cooked please.
Thanks Lorraine

I always go for the dry / uncooked weight of food whenever I can. For things like pasta, rice and oats that's what the nutrition information on the package usually refers to unless it specifically states that it's for the cooked amount.

Sometimes the label says "values for 100 g of prepared product" or something along the lines though, then it's for when you've already cooked it. If it doesn't, it's always for how it is in the package.
