Not many busy souls will take the time to read this; however, would like to take a moment to personally thank each and every one of you who stop by to read this post.

Throughout all my weightloss journeys, I've given up due to lost motivation. Just now discovered these forums and hoping that some will be kind enough to help coach me through this. Very tired of always thinking about my fat and how insecure I am and how small I used to be. Who wouldn't want that back?

I weigh 175lb as of right now and my goal weight is around at least 120-125lb. If any of you lovely souls have an amazing motivational tips or success stories that will cause motivation, please feel free to share. It would mean SO much to me.

Weight loss is all about eating less than you burn. Simple, not easy but simple.

Start logging everything you eat, do this everyday until it becomes a habit. Even if you have bad days and over your goal for the day, log it.

No need to think of this as a diet because it is not. All you are doing at this moment is trying to figure out your maintenance calories. Then start eating a little less. Giving up is the easy way out.

Hi Amber....I am right here with ya. It is tough and so easy to give up and give in. I am about the same starting weight as you and looking at a goal weight of 145. I am doing low carb so the temptation gets rough since I am also a carb *kitten*!!! Add me as a friend if you want and we can "lean" on each other through this journey.

You're either motivated or not. People can inspire you, encourage and even teach you, but if you yourself can't find a way to stick to it out of sheer willingness, then that is why you give up.
Get a backbone instead of a wishbone. Successful people don't let deterrences or setbacks stop them from going forward and reaching their goals. Once you have that mindset, it doesn't matter if someone encourages you or not because you'll already pass that obstacle.

What works for me is looking at my chart every day. I use trendweight.com, I post about it a lot, e.g. here, because the chart I use has two important features:

1- it shows progress as long as I'm making progress
2- it shows bad eating the day after I make my mistakes

Lots of times I remember to stay on track because I don't want to see a bad result on the chart ... as long as I keep looking at it every day, it keeps going down. I know from long experience that my weight only goes up if I fail to look at the chart ... and how hard can opening a webpage each morning be?

First of all excuse my english this isn't my first language! With weight loss is a matter of time , effort , struggle ,pain and tears !! Is hard , period!!My motivation is when people tell me "I can't do it " so my advice for you is 1. Have daily goals , focus on the present . 2. Write everything you eat, this will make you accountable and if you eat clean say 5 days in a row you won't want to ruin it on the 6 day .3. Believe you are stronger then you think you are, when exercising push yourself to your limits this will give you confidence. 4. This is a long process where you will fight with your body and your mind and if you feel insecure please check this out http://youtu.be/hbkZrOU1Zag ! Good luck!!
