Start with small changes that are manageable in food intake and exercise. Log everything, good bad and ugly. Walk. Repeat. You are able to do this. Believe it.!! :)

    It isn't hard.

    Here are the steps:
    1. Get tired of your fat.
    2. Stop making excuses.
    3. Figure out your caloric needs (MFP does this for you)
    4. Log all your food
    5. Weigh all your food properly, DO NOT EYE BALL ANYTHING.

Weight loss is about eating at a deficit. There is no science to it. You don't have to eat clean, you don't have to eat brown rice, kale, cauliflower....you don't have to restrict the "bad" foods to lose weight. What you do have to do is eat below what your daily requirement is.

    It's that easy.

So now, read this thread and all the links. Don't cheat yourself.

Also, be patient with yourself. Weight loss takes time, and your weight will naturally fluctuate. So don't get frustrated if you don't lose weight right away, or if you see your weight going up a little bit. Concentrate on weight loss over the long term. Stick with eating at a deficit, and you'll lose weight.

I got a fitbit at the beginning of the year and lost 30 lbs in 4 months. Been maintaining but I'm just about to move to the next level.

It serves as a reminder, everything I look at it, to stay focused and that I have goals. It is in itself an exceptional tool when combined with the fitbit and my fitness pal apps.

Technology will be the key to my success. Maybe it could be yours too.

It sounds daunting, I know - but it can definitely be done with a little bit of self belief.

I have dropped 30lbs exactly and I was really doubtful I could do it at first. Once I got in to a routine and got in to the habit of tracking, it became easier and easier! The best thing to do is split that 30lbs into smaller increments (for me, I aimed for around 4lbs per week)! You'll enjoy hitting each smaller target. Also - take your measurements each month!! :D

Start by logging all your foods. I love logging for the entire day (usually just the night before) so I don't go overboard on one meal.

Drink a lot of water. I find it clears my skin and it's been known to be helpful with your metabolism.

Remember that you really can eat whatever you want as long as the calories fit. A well balanced meal with junk food not included would be the healthiest option and can really make you feel full for the whole day but people always find this aspect to be the most challenging: the quality of food. Just eat whatever you can manage and slowly change the unhealthy things with healthier alternatives as you get accustomed to the diet.

Oh, and it's not really a diet. It's a lifestyle. Within 3 weeks you won't even realize how strange it is and will just be in the habit of eating this way. The more you see the results the more motivated you will probably feel so don't be discouraged when you don't lose weight right away because it DOES WORK. Just give it patience and don't try to keep thinking about how you have or haven't changed. Take it day by day.
