BMR, TDEE, LBM, and NEAT? What are these? Thanks!
BMR - basal metabolic rate - it is what your body needs everyday just to survive, like if you were in a coma.
TDEE - total daily energy expenditure - this is your BMR plus all your daily activity. From the small movements like walking aroudn your house, brushing your teeth, to your job and exercise. This is the number that you would maintain your weight at.
LBM - lean body mass - this is your body weight minus your body fat. So includes your muscle mass but also stuff like your organ, bone mass, etc.
NEAT - non exercise activity thermogenesis - this is pretty much TDEE without the exercise. It includes your BMR and daily activity but does not include intentional exercise. MFP is setup on a NEAT principle which is why it expects you to log exercise and adds the calories.0 -
