Runner friends: I started getting horrible shin splints, so I bought insoles for my shoes to help, but now the insoles make my shoes tight and my foot rides higher which has resulted in the worst blisters I've EVER HAD and a workout cut short ideas? Really don't want to buy new shoes, but if I have to, should I go a half/whole size up to compensate for the insoles?

Probably best to skip the insoles and do some shin splint specific exercises:

I got free gait analysis at a running shop. Changed my life. The guy found things I would never have guessed. You don't have to buy the shoes recommended - you'll get lots of advice. And if it something more serious, that'd require medical attention, the running advisor should be able to spot that too.0
