It's been 2 years but I never trained abs during bulk, I just focus on mass mainly but this time I am gonna do a slow bulk and also build up the core.

If you're going to train them, why would you only do it during a cut when you can't actually build them up?0

Wait, So you only train abs when bulking? No other muscles?0 -
Abs are trained every day. Especially when you do compounds with weight resistance that challenging enough. If you're speaking of isolated ab work..................I hardly train them at all because of all the kickboxing and plyometrics (like box jumps) that I do.

Lol that's what I do, Never really trained abs isolate0 -
I'm confused as to the purpose of this thread0

Um. I've never really done much ab isolation work. When I bulk...of course I will. Doesn't that seem like the best time to do it?0
-
Definitely train them on a bulk. That way once you cut they'll be that much more noticeable while still in a slightly higher body fat, plus that much less work once you cut.0

Wait, So you only train abs when bulking? No other muscles?
Correct. I'm trying to build the world's biggest beer belly.0 -
Train them like any other muscle0
-
I don't really train mine per se...do lots of yoga so they're constantly worked in all the balance moves involved, arm balances and inversions.0

Muscles like abs and calves are built for endurance. You can train them more often than other muscle groups.
IMO, you should train your abs even during a bulk; a strong core is more than just for a washboard stomach.0 -
Perfect time to do weighted crunches to build mass
